Scratch Protection

Although no lens material is “scratch-proof,” it’s important to protect your new lenses with a scratch resistant treatment. Lenses that are treated on the front and backside with a clear, hard coating show increased resistance to scratching. Scratch-Resistant Lenses

Lenses with the best scratch protection are treated on the front and backside with a clear, hard, scratch-resistant coating. This can minimize the damage to your lenses if you accidentally drop them, or clean them with the wrong type of material.

When eyeglass lenses are scratched, they become less clear and are more likely to cause eye fatigue. Scratches also make it harder for others to see your eyes from the front, and may even begin to bother the wearer if scratches are noticeable. There are some treatments that can help your lenses resist scratching and have a longer life.

Some lens materials like polycarbonate and trivex have built-in scratch resistance. However, it’s important to know that not all scratch-resistant treatments offer equal protection. COVID-19 Office Reopening

We are scheduling routine eye exams again.  We have missed our patients, and are very excited to safely get back into the swing of things after our temporary pause due to Covid-19.  Give us a call at 918-745-9700.

Rest assured, we have developed new office protocols to protect the health and safety of our patients and our staff.  For the time being, we will be lengthening the time between patient appointments with the goal of having only one patient in the office at a time.  We will check the temperature of every person entering our office.  Thorough disinfection will take place after every patient.  We will be wearing protective equipment and ask all patients to wear face coverings into the office.  We are asking that patients do not bring any family or guests with them into the office (unless the patient is a minor or requires a caregiver).  Please make appointments for glasses adjustments and dispensing to assure social distancing is observed.  Lastly, if you or a member of your household is ill, please reschedule your appointment.

We will be monitoring conditions and recommendations and will update our policies accordingly.
